SUBJECT:    New Voicemail to Email service

We are pleased to introduce a new "Voicemail to Email" service available immediately to all UCSD campus voicemail users. This service allows you to listen to and store your voicemail messages on your computer. This feature is especially useful when you are away from a phone, when you are traveling, and when you want to save a voicemail message for a prolonged period of time.

This feature is optional and is available at no additional cost to all voicemail users. To request and activate this feature, follow the instructions listed at: http://blink.ucsd.edu/go/voicemailtoemail.

Once the feature is activated you will receive an email message a few seconds after each voicemail is received. The email message will contain an audio file attachment and you'll be able to listen to it on your computer by opening the attachment.

Please note that the message waiting indicator on your desk phone will not turn off when you listen to the message on your computer and you will need to continue maintaining your voicemail messages (save, delete, forward, etc.) using the normal phone interface.

Our goal is to process requests for this service within 24 hours. However, turnaround time may be longer in the next few days due to the expected high volume of requests following this announcement. If you have any questions or encounter any problems, please contact the ACT Help Desk at acthelp@ucsd.edu or at (858) 534-1853.
