According to University of California personnel policy for staff members, the performance of each employee shall be appraised annually in writing, or more frequently, by the employee's immediate supervisor in accordance with local procedures. This notice is intended to encourage and affirm the requirement for performance management and annual written appraisals.
The UC San Diego annual performance appraisal process provides a means of measuring and enhancing individual performance and fostering employee development. In support of these objectives, various appraisal models have been approved for use by supervisors to assess the performance of staff employees.
