Organized Research Units (ORUs) were created as a vehicle for promoting multidisciplinary research. Earlier this year, a taskforce to determine the effectiveness of current campus ORU structures and processes was convened by the Chair of the Academic Senate and the Senior Vice Chancellor - Academic Affairs. The taskforce would like to invite comments on this important topic from the campus community.
If you have thoughts on the current campus ORU structures and processes and/or suggestions for enhancing their effectiveness, we encourage you to send your comments to the Taskforce at orutaskforce@ucsd.edu by August 15, 2007.
