UCSD Organized Research Units Task Force Report

In the spring of 2007, a Joint Senate-Administration Taskforce was established to examine the structures and processes of UCSD's Organized Research Units (ORUs). The Taskforce has now completed its deliberations and produced a report that has been forwarded to the Academic Senate and Administration for consideration. A copy of the Taskforce report has been posted to the Office of Research Affairs website:

The Academic Senate and other campus constituencies are currently reviewing the report. In order to provide an opportunity to hear all viewpoints, there will be a town meeting at which the UCSD academic community is invited to discuss the report with Taskforce members. We would like to invite all members of the UCSD academic community to this meeting, which will be held from 9:00am - 10:00am on Wednesday, February 6, 2008, in Conference Room 111a, University Center.
