SUBJECT:    Search for Associate Vice Chancellor -
Research Initiatives (AVC-RI)

Applications and nominations are invited for a half-time position (0.5 FTE) of Associate Vice Chancellor in the Office of Research Affairs (ORA). The Associate Vice Chancellor for Research Initiatives (AVC-RI) would serve as part of the Vice Chancellor - Research’s leadership team in establishing priorities and undertaking new initiatives consistent with those priorities.

The Associate Vice Chancellor - RI will have the following general responsibilities:

• Developing interdisciplinary initiatives, particularly large team-based proposals

• Broadening innovation-related activities

• Expanding undergraduate research opportunities

Applicants should be tenured faculty members with a broad view of the research enterprise and an ability to work effectively across academic and administrative units. A strong record of prior administrative experience is highly desirable. Candidates should also have a commitment to and demonstrated success in achieving institutional diversity goals.
