Reappointment of Peter Cowhey as Dean of IR/PS

I am pleased to announce that, subsequent to a very successful five-year review, Chancellor Fox and I have asked Peter Cowhey to continue as Dean of the Graduate School of International Relations and Pacific Studies. Dean Cowhey has significantly enhanced the profile, visibility, and prestige of the school. He has improved the reputation of IR/PS as one of the top academic and professional schools on international affairs in the U.S. Under his leadership, the school has been successful in recruiting and retaining excellent faculty; developing new programs; and increasing extramural funding.

We are enormously pleased that the Graduate School of International Relations and Pacific Studies and the campus will continue to benefit from Dean Cowhey’s outstanding leadership. Chancellor Fox and I very much appreciate the review committee members’ thorough work, as well as their insightful suggestions as the school moves forward.
