ALL ACADEMICS AT UCSD
We are pleased to host the third annual UC San Diego Welcome Convocation with the theme, “Uncommon Scholars, Global Citizens,” to symbolize what is distinctive about a UC San Diego education. The event has proved to be a great success and is an excellent opportunity to kick off the academic experience for freshmen and transfer students.
We hope that you will join us for this very important event on Sunday, September 21, at 4:30 p.m. on RIMAC Field. The Convocation will consist of a short program of about 45 minutes that will include Senior Vice Chancellor Paul Drake, Professor Steven Schick from the Department of Music, Associated Students President Donna Bean, and an alumnus speaker. The program will be followed by a hosted dinner from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. on the field with a live musical celebration.
The Convocation is the first opportunity to welcome all new students, freshmen and transfers alike. At the event, you will have the opportunity to meet the new students and encourage their active participation in academic programs, research, community service, and outreach activities.
Please respond via e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org with your response by September 8. We look forward to seeing you there.
