SUBJECT:    CONSTRUCTION ALERT UPDATE - Hopkins Drive, Voigt Drive and Justice Lane (Third Update)

Project Location/Impact

The North Campus Switch Station Expansion Project is under construction. As part of this project the contractor has been installing underground electric conduits on Hopkins Drive, Voigt Drive West and Justice Lane. This work, originally scheduled for completion September 12, is now scheduled to complete on September 17, 2008. The new utility lines are needed to upgrade the capacity of Campus 12KV Distribution System in order to provide power to future upcoming projects.

Immediate Street Impacts

Between the hours of 7:00 AM and 3:30 PM traffic on Hopkins Drive, Voigt Drive and Justice Lane may be reduced to one lane during construction. Emergency vehicle access will be available and flagmen will be directing traffic as needed. East and West sidewalks, north of the intersection of Voigt Drive and Hopkins Drive up to the driveway south of the RIMAC Building will be closed during the construction period. Detour signs for vehicles and pedestrian traffic will also be posted.
