SUBJECT:	Revised Policy and Procedure Manual Section 230-28,
	Academic Advancements and Reappointments

I am pleased to announce the revision of Policy and Procedure Manual Section 230-28, Academic Advancements and Reappointments, which is effective retroactively to September 1, 2008.

The revision clarifies the content and significantly improves the presentation of UCSD’s academic advancement and reappointment policy. The revised policy and updated supporting documents encompass suggestions from the Academic Senate, including the Committee on Academic Personnel (CAP), as well as other members of the campus community. In addition, technical changes were made throughout the policy. A summary of the major revisions to PPM 230-28 is available at:
