SUBJECT:    CONSTRUCTION ALERT – Tree Removal at Parking Lot P608

Project Description/Location:

On January 19, 2009, tree removal in Parking Lot P608 will commence. The work will continue for ten consecutive days and will result in various parking areas being temporarily unavailable until the work is completed. This scope of work represents the initial portion of the construction related to the new Heath Sciences Graduate Housing project which is scheduled to commence in March 2009. The Health Sciences Graduate Housing has been anticipated under the UCSD Master Plan and the School of Medicine Neighborhood Planning Study and will consist of 225 - 2 bedroom graduate student apartments as well as support areas.

Immediate Street Impacts for Demolition Work:

Beginning January 19, 2009 to January 30, 2009 tree removal work in P608 will occur. This work will not impact vehicular traffic and will be controlled by flagmen or traffic control. Some parking areas will be blocked off while others remain open. The work will proceed in phases during the 10 days of construction.
