MEMBERS OF THE REPRESENTATIVE ASSEMBLY
Our second meeting of the 2009-10 academic year is scheduled for Tuesday, December 1 at 3:30 p.m., in the Center for Molecular Genetics Conference Room. The Notice of Meeting (agenda) and all pertinent documents may be found on the Senate's Web page at:
SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS: Professor Steven Adler, Chair of the Council of Provosts, will give the Assembly an update on UC San Diego's six undergraduate colleges. Professor John Haviland, Chair of the Divisional Committee on International Education and Vice Chair of the University Committee on International Education, will provide us with current information about the state of the UC Education Abroad Program. This Program, which many see as a vital part of UC's academic environment, has been and will continue to be subject to significant changes because of the current financial situation.
At our October 27 meeting, the Assembly approved a resolution presented by the Associated Students, expressing concern about the recently approved fee increases. The resolution can be found at http://senate.ucsd.edu/assembly/0910/ASProposal102709.pdf
The future of the UC Retirement Plan has been a concern of many, and
last year The Regents charged a task force to develop a comprehensive,
long-term approach to UC's post-employment benefits obligations.
Members of the Task Force visited the campus on November 12; the podcast
of the Post-Employment Benefit Forum can be found at
