SUBJECT:    Animal Program Oversight Committee (APOC)

The Office of Research Affairs is pleased to announce the establishment of the Animal Program Oversight Committee (APOC). This committee is comprised of members of the faculty, the chair of the IACUC, and representatives from the Animal Care Program, the Animal Welfare Program, and the Office of Research Affairs. The charge to this committee is to provide general advice and guidance to the Vice Chancellor for Research, who serves as the Institutional Official, on all key animal operational issues; develop long-term strategic plans for the future development of animal research; offer input into the organizational model; establish recharge rates for different species on an annual basis; and advise on resource allocation, large equipment proposals, and the design and refurbishment of vivaria.
