2nd CONSTRUCTION ALERT Regarding Health Sciences Graduate and Professional Student Housing

Project Description/Location:

The Health Sciences Graduate and Professional Student Housing will consist of 225 two-bedroom apartment units and one two-bedroom staff apartment. There will also be spaces for Resident Services, administrative offices and custodial/maintenance/grounds functions. The site covers approximately 4.5 acres which is currently occupied by UCSD parking Lot P608. Access to the new Health Sciences Graduate and Professional Student Housing will be provided by an extension of the fire lane road west of the UCSD Pharmacy building.

Immediate Street Impacts:

Beginning on March 18, 2009 a construction fence will be installed and all parking in Lot P608 will be fully displaced. The project construction will commence on March 23, 2009 and continue until approximately September 21, 2010. Osler Lane will remain open to all traffic during the construction period. Temporary construction will occur on the fire lane west of Pharmacy and on Villa La Jolla Drive to accommodate the installation of underground utilities. Traffic control will be provided and alternate routes will be identified with on site signage.
