	Reduction Proposals

Although we recognize the severity of the global budget challenges and its effect on the University of California, UC San Diego is and will continue to be an extraordinary institution in the world’s best public university system.

It is vital that the entire University community work together to maintain UC San Diego’s excellence during these challenging times. To this end, I encourage you to attend one of the Town Halls set for today or tomorrow. You will hear an update on the state budget and its effect on UC San Diego and we will discuss the new budget reduction proposals from the UC Office of the President. This is an opportunity for you to communicate directly, share concerns, discuss ideas and ask questions about the budget.
