Temporary Reduction in Annual Parking Fees

During these particularly challenging economic times, we must all work together to identify ways to serve the university community and ease our common financial burdens. By reprioritizing operational initiatives, Transportation Services has identified a way to provide some relief for faculty, staff, and students through a temporary decrease in parking permit fees.

After two years of no increase, Transportation Services will temporarily reduce annual parking permit fees by 5% effective August 1, 2009. Meter, monthly, and visitor parking will not be affected by this change. For exclusively represented employees, the temporary rate reduction is subject to collective bargaining.

Although operational costs continue to rise and implementing a temporary fee reduction will have long-term financial impacts, Transportation Services recognizes the need to assist its valued campus community. The parking permit reduction will be effective through June 30, 2010.
