SUBJECT:    Open Enrollment: News You Can Use

Dear Fellow Employee,

We are writing to encourage you and your family to receive all of your health care through our world-renowned UC San Diego Health System, and to start by choosing a UC San Diego Medical Group primary care provider (PCP). Why?

We'll treat you like family - because you are. We believe you and your family deserve access to the region's best doctors, highest quality medical and preventive care, and leading-edge technology. As a PCP takes care of a family for life - from expectant mothers to children to seniors to retirees - you should feel comfortable with this person and choose wisely.

Selecting a PCP shouldn't be a pain. That's why we have simplified the process. Did you know that you can:

Quality

*Access all specialists, programs and facilities at UC San Diego Health System, including the only hospital-based Birth Center in San Diego County, Moores UCSD Cancer Center, Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center and Shiley Eye Center
*More than 90 UC San Diego Health System physicians were named as "top doctors" in San Diego Magazine

State-of-the-Art

*E-mail your PCP, schedule an appointment, view lab results, and more, through MyUCSDChart, a secure online tool that connects you to your health record at any time

Convenience

*Switch to a UC San Diego Medical Group PCP at any time - no need to wait until open enrollment
*Select a UC San Diego Medical Group PCP from the health plans offered by the University of California
*Expedited referral turn-around when referred by UC San Diego PCP to a UC San Diego specialist
*Schedule same or next day appointments and attend urgent care clinics at most of our neighborhood-based PCP offices
*See PCPs at multiple locations throughout the region such as Scripps Ranch, Hillcrest and La Jolla
Confidentiality

*Feel confident that your personal health information is safe - in the past two years, we have adopted a state-of-the-art security system to protect your electronic health record; we follow strict confidentiality policies and adhere to state and national privacy regulations
