SUBJECT: Post Employment Benefits Town Hall Meetings

I invite you to attend a Post Employment Benefits Town Hall meeting – either on the general campus or at UC San Diego Medical Center, Hillcrest – on Friday, Oct. 22. Representatives from the University of California Office of the President (UCOP) will update our university community about the options before the UC Regents to ensure the long-term stability of the UC Retirement Plan. The UCOP representatives, including Randy Scott, Executive Director Policy and Program Design, Human Resources and Benefits, and Peter Taylor, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, will make a presentation at both Town Hall meetings and host question and answer sessions.

The Town Hall meetings will be held:

· Friday, Oct. 22, 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. in the auditorium at UC San
Diego Medical Center, Hillcrest

· Friday, Oct. 22, 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. in the Price Center East
Ballroom

In order to allow employees the opportunity to attend one of the Town Hall meetings, I am approving 1.5 hours of administrative leave with pay so that employees may attend. Supervisors may allow employees 1.5 hours of administrative leave with pay to attend a Town Hall meeting, as long as the absence does not infringe upon the performance of required job duties or patient care.
