SUBJECT:    CONSTRUCTION ALERT – Construction Fence Erection, Contractor Trailers Installation and Temporary Power Installation at the Construction Site for Health Sciences Biomedical Research Facility 2

Project Description/Location:

The Health Sciences Biomedical Research Facility 2 is a five story lab building with a seven story office wing. The facility will consist of animal research facilities, core facilities, laboratories, support spaces, offices and conference rooms.

Beginning December 2, 2010 and continuing through March 2, 2011, the construction fence, trailers and temporary power will be installed on the staging area and construction site for the Health Sciences Biomedical Research Facility 2. In addition site preparation, including tree removal, asphalt removal and general site preparation, will commence. Construction of site improvements and building construction will follow with an anticipated completion date of December 2013.

Immediate Street Impacts for Demolition and Construction Work:

Beginning December 2, 2010 and continuing through December 2013 the construction of the Health Sciences Biomedical Research Facility 2 will occur. The site is located east of the Pharmaceutical Sciences Building, south of the Telemedicine Building on the south side of Osler Lane. There will be two entries to the construction site south of Parking Lot P603. Partial parking will be available in the northwest corner of Parking Lot P603. Intermittent impacts to vehicular traffic on Osler Lane should be anticipated and will be controlled by flagmen or traffic control. No impact to vehicular traffic on the main campus is anticipated. Impacts to pedestrians should be minimal, however pedestrians are urged to use caution while in proximity to the construction site.
