ALL ACADEMICS AND STAFF AT UCSD
A search for the next Director of the UCSD Center for Iberian & Latin American Studies (CILAS) is commencing, and I am pleased to invite applications and nominations for this position. The new Director will succeed Christine Hunefeldt, who will leave the position at the end of this academic year after providing exemplary service.
CILAS has achieved consistent recognition, including substantial support from the U.S. Department of Education as one of the nation's leading centers for the study of Latin America. Information about CILAS may be viewed at: http://cilas.ucsd.edu/
The CILAS Director oversees programmatic planning, as well as fiscal and operational management of the Center. The Director reports to the Vice Chancellor for Research.
Candidates must have a distinguished record of scholarship, teaching, and service appropriate for the appointment and hold a tenured faculty position at UCSD.
The search committee's members are Peter Smith, Political Science (Chair); Thomas Csordas, Anthropology; Daniel Hallin, Communication; and Susan Shirk, IR/PS. Applications and nominations may be sent to the attention of Chair Peter Smith (MC 0521, firstname.lastname@example.org) by March 1, 2010.
