RESOURCE MANAGEMENT & PLANNING

February 24, 2010

ALL ACADEMICS AND STAFF AT UCSD

SUBJECT:    2010 Compliance Briefing: UC Ethical Values and Conduct

Beginning in early March, the University of California will launch an online Compliance Briefing for faculty, staff, postdocs and students at all UC locations. If you are required to take this training module you will receive a personalized link from the UC Learning Center that will direct you to the new online Compliance Briefing course.

The Briefing, which is mandatory, takes about 20-30 minutes to complete. It is designed to reinforce the Statement of Ethical Values and Standards of Ethical Conduct, and to convey University employment obligations with respect to ethical and compliant behavior. The purpose is not to teach University policy or ethics but to familiarize UC employees with important ethics and compliance information, issues and resources. In addition, this briefing will provide information about reporting instances of non-compliance.

The Briefing can be taken on any computer with Internet access and does not need to be completed in one sitting. However, if you do not complete the course in one sitting please retain your email with the personalized link so you can re-access it for later completion. The Briefing will remain available to you for reference throughout the year. Thank you for your cooperation in meeting this requirement by December 31, 2010.

Additional information regarding the Compliance Briefing can be found on UCOP's website
