Organized Research Unit (ORU) Policy Revision

UC San Diego's Organized Research Unit (ORU) Policy and Procedures document has undergone a thorough review and revision process by the campus Senate and the administration. Effective immediately, the revised policy, dated May 2010, supersedes the previous version dated August 1999.

Organized Research Units (ORUs) are academic units of the University that provide a supportive infrastructure for interdisciplinary research that complements the academic goals of departments. The revised policy provides the framework for the structure and operation of a dynamic and diverse ORU portfolio at UCSD. Many individuals contributed to the revised policy and are thanked for their input.
