University of California personnel policy for staff members requires that the performance of each employee be appraised annually in writing or more frequently by the employee's immediate supervisor in accordance with local procedures. This notice is intended to encourage and affirm the requirement for performance management and annual written appraisals.
The UC San Diego annual performance appraisal process provides a means of measuring and enhancing individual performance and fostering employee development. In support of these objectives, various appraisal models are available for use by supervisors and customized models have also been approved to assess the performance of staff employees.
