SUBJECT:    UCSD Bicycle and Skateboard Regulations

The UCSD Police Department welcomes all new and returning students, and we would also like to remind everyone about the regulations regarding non-motorized transportation, including bicycles, roller blades and skates, and skateboards on our campus.

CITATIONS ARE ISSUED FOR THE FOLLOWING INFRACTIONS:

* Cyclists must stop at STOP signs. 22450(a) California Vehicle Code (CVC)
* Bicycles must ride with the flow of traffic. 21650.1 CVC
* Cyclists must obey all traffic signs and signals. 21461(a) CVC
* Wearing headphones in both ears WHILE riding a bicycle is prohibited. 27400 CVC
* Skateboards, skates, roller blades, and bicycles are prohibited in any area where signs are posted restricting such activity.
* Trick skateboarding is prohibited on campus.

Bicycles must be registered (Per California Vehicle Code (CVC) 39002(a) and UCSD Enforcement Code Section 6000.08).

Registration not only shows ownership, but also may assist in the retrieval of your bike if reported lost or stolen. You can register your bicycle at the UCSD Bike Shop, Monday through Friday 10am - 4pm.
