10th Anniversary Commemoration of September 11

In honor of the 10th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack, a wreath will be placed at the commemorative tree on Warren Mall at the foot of the Snake Path at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, September 9. Billiekai Boughton, Vice Chair of the UC San Diego Veterans Association, will place the wreath and it will remain at the site until sunset.

The Geisel Library carillon will ring at 12:15 p.m. to initiate a moment of silence, and Scott Paulson of Geisel Library’s Art Library has composed a special carillon peal for the occasion.

Members of the campus community are encouraged to pay their respects throughout the day with their own personal expressions of reflection and honor.
