ALL STUDENTS AT UCSD

SUBJECT:    Student Voting/Mayoral Forum

Triton Students,

In partnership with the Student Organized Voter Access Committee (SOVAC), I would like to remind you about the importance of active civic participation in local, state, and national affairs. You can exercise your civic engagement by registering to vote and voting on November 6, 2012.

First time voters and voters wishing to re-register in San Diego County can do so online by visiting the SOVAC online voter registration tool at https://register.rockthevote.com/registrants/new?partner=16933

The process takes very little time and is convenient for the busy schedule of students. The deadline to register is October 22.

Every registered student voter living on campus will be assigned to a polling location near their College or at The Village. This makes voting on November 6 even more convenient. More information on polling locations will be shared as we get closer to Election Day, so please pay attention to these efforts.

In advance of the November 6 election, I also highly encourage you to attend the City of San Diego Mayoral Forum at UC San Diego on Saturday, October 13 at 2:45pm in the Price Center East Ballroom. This is being organized by several student organizations to get students interested in local affairs. For more information on registering to vote and the Mayoral Forum, please contact sovac@ucsd.edu.

Go Tritons, Go Vote!
