CAMPUS NOTICE

ACADEMIC SENATE: SAN DIEGO DIVISION

April 12, 2012

MEMBERS OF THE ACADEMIC SENATE
SAN DIEGO DIVISION

SUBJECT:    Reminder - Memorial to The Regents

Dear Colleagues:

The current referendum being conducted by the systemwide Assembly of the Academic Senate, to decide whether to send forward a Memorial to The Regents, needs your attention. This Memorial asks The Regents to endorse one or more specific ballot measures or legislative initiatives that would increase state revenues and/or increase funding for the University of California. More information can be found on the Senate webpage at http://senate.ucsd.edu/

A Memorial is the Senate's only vehicle for making a recommendation to The Regents from the entire Senate membership, which means it is very important for a large proportion of the Senate membership to vote. You should have received your ballot by campus mail late last week. If you did not, please contact Norine Siglar (senatetemp@ucsd.edu, x43640) immediately to arrange for a copy.

The San Diego Division will continue its voting until 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 17, the deadline for all ballots to be received in the Academic Senate Office (UCtr 215, mail code 0002).

We urge you to vote. Thank you for putting your views on the record at this time of crisis for the University.

Sincerely, Joel Sobel, Chair
Academic Senate, San Diego Division

T. Guy Masters, Vice Chair
Academic Senate, San Diego Division
