Proposed Revisions to Systemwide Academic Personnel Policies

The University invites comments on proposed revisions to the following sections of the Academic Personnel Manual (APM): APM 430, Visiting Scholars; and APM 700, Leaves of Absence/General, Presumptive Resignation, as described below:

APM 430, Visiting Scholars

The proposal is responsive to campus requests to create a new title to accommodate domestic and international visitors who are students enrolled in universities in the United States and abroad, and for academics employed at other institutions visiting the University of California for short-term academic or cultural exchange experiences.

APM 700, Leaves of Absence/General, Presumptive Resignation

The proposal is responsive to campus requests to address the need for a presumptive resignation policy.
