ALL ACADEMICS, STAFF AND STUDENTS AT UC SAN DIEGO

SUBJECT:    Triton Day - Saturday, April 6, 2013 from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00p.m. - All Campus Community

Please save the date of Saturday, April 6th for Triton Day 2013! A new campus tradition begun last year, Triton Day brings together the entire UC San Diego community to demonstrate to admitted freshmen students and their families all facets of what our campus has to offer. The day showcases UC San Diego as a living laboratory for learning, research and development, and offers prospective students insight into their potential future as a member of the Triton family. An estimated 20,000 people will explore the campus for a day of education and fun.

The goal of this important endeavor is to have fun, and to support our admissions efforts by encouraging these students - some of the best and brightest high school seniors in California, the nation, and the world - to choose UC San Diego. The experience we create for them on Triton Day will greatly impact that choice. Broad campus participation from all academic areas, student support services, student organizations, and administrative support units will be essential to achieving our goal.

To give our prospective students a true flavor of what life is like at UC San Diego, this year we'd like to highlight even more research and educational opportunities, organizations and clubs and offer additional tours of labs and research facilities. By February, we will send another notice with a link to an online reservation site, where academic departments, student services and student organizations may register to table on Triton Day.

If you'd like to open up your lab, studio, gallery, or any other space on Triton Day to admitted students and families, please contact Debi Kammerer via email at dkammerer@ucsd.edu or by phone at 858-534-0085.

In addition, many volunteers will be needed to make this day a great success. Look for future notices about Triton Day volunteer opportunities on the Volunteer 50 website (http://volunteer50.ucsd.edu/) to learn more about how you can participate.

We look forward to your participation in Triton Day 2013!
