SUBJECT:    Recruitment for UC San Diego Notary Public at Thornton Hospital and the Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center

The UC San Diego Notary Program is currently recruiting a limited number of staff to become notaries to represent the university, for its notarial needs at Thornton Hospital and the Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center. Notaries Public perform an invaluable service to UC San Diego Campus and Medical Centers. Employees who receive a notary commission are responsible for taking acknowledgements and administering oaths or affirmations for documents related to UC San Diego Campus and Medical Center business or Non-University/Non-Medical Center business for faculty, staff and students.

The Notary Program offers many benefits to the notary’s department such as:

* Paying for mandatory course upon each commission renewal
* passport size photo
* fingerprinting
* exam and commission filing fees
* bond, error and omissions insurance
* supply certification of employment to waive filing fees when filing documents with the county clerk
* bi-annual informative meetings and training
* annual gift of appreciation
* certificate of appreciation signed by the Chancellor upon commission renewal
* when notarizing Non-University business, any incidental funds received remains in the department
