October 28, 2013

KEY ADMINISTRATORS/KEY SUPPORT STAFF (excluding UC San Diego Health System)

SUBJECT:    Career Tracks

Career Tracks is a University of California systemwide initiative designed with the objectives of streamlining the job classification process, providing more transparent classification decisions, and supporting more effective salary administration. Career Tracks was developed at UC Berkeley and is now being implemented at other UC campuses.

Campus Human Resources is leading this project in conjunction with campus representatives who are serving as subject matter experts. A systemwide steering committee is coordinating input provided by UC campuses to ensure that Career Tracks will best serve all UC campuses.

Career Tracks will be used to classify Management and Senior Professionals, and Professional and Support Staff jobs.

Information sessions have been scheduled to provide an overview of Career Tracks as well as to address questions. Staff who are interested in learning more about this important project are strongly encouraged to attend.

Information about the upcoming sessions and the Career Tracks initiative is available at: http://blink.ucsd.edu/go/careertracks.
