MEMBERS OF THE ACADEMIC SENATE, SAN DIEGO DIVISION
On behalf of Academic Council Chair Bill Jacob, I am transmitting his message informing you that University employees may be able to make changes to the health care plans they selected during open enrollment.
Please contact the campus or Health System Benefits Office as soon as possible if you would like to make a change, as there are restrictions on retroactive changes after you use the services of a provider. The deadline to make changes is March 31, 2014.

I want to let you know we have been told that all UC employees may change their Health Care enrollment prior to March 31 should they find themselves enrolled in the wrong medical plan. There has been some confusion that this is only available to UCSB employees, but we have received information that is not the case and it applies to the entire UC System. An announcement has just been posted on the At Your Service web site at http://atyourservice.ucop.edu/news/general/1312-change-after-oe.html.
If you decide you want to make a change, you must contact your campus Health Care Facilitator or Benefits Office to obtain the appropriate forms, as this cannot be done online. Your ability to make a change will be limited by certain circumstances, such as whether you accessed medical services prior to requesting a change. We recommend coming forward as soon as you realize an error.
This option is available to everyone regardless of your choice made during open enrollment.
