SUBJECT:    Revised Deadline and Additional Workshop - Help Guide UC San Diego Research

A key outcome of the campus strategic planning effort is the identification of four broad themes that provide opportunities for interdisciplinary research and education to complement the outstanding individual efforts which will continue to be campus priorities. The themes provide opportunities to leverage the remarkable research on our campus to address several of society's most pressing challenges.

As you know, we are hosting workshops to enable broad participation in the development of these areas and identify new collaborative opportunities. We are pleased to announce the time of the workshop for the fourth campus generated theme: Understanding cultures and addressing disparities in social justice, access, equity and inclusion.

To accommodate interest, we have extended the deadline for abstract submission to Wednesday, January 22 for the first three workshops. The deadline to submit an abstract for the February 11 workshop is Wednesday, January 29.

Schedule:
February 4, 2:30-6 pm
Understanding and protecting the planet

February 5, 2:30-6 pm
Exploring the basis of human knowledge and creativity

February 6, 2:30-6 pm
Enriching the quality of human life and health

February 11, 2-5:30 pm
