SUBJECT:    Faculty Participation in the Early Calling Campaign for 2014 Admitted Students

Dear Colleagues:

Please note the Early Calling Campaign will be March 4-9, 2014. The link to sign-up is included at the end of this email. In an effort to increase participation, please forward this invitation to your staff and colleagues.

Admissions decisions will be released mid-March, and once again the fall 2014 admits are among the best and brightest with admissions offers from top institutions across the country. Research indicates that faculty interaction is a key factor in a student's college decision-making process. Therefore, we need all faculty and staff to participate in the Early Calling Campaign, a critical yield program to attract outstanding admits to UC San Diego-specifically those from historically underrepresented groups who have applied to your department, program or college.

Our goal is to contact these newly admitted students as quickly as possible to share the good news that they have been admitted to UC San Diego, and that an official letter is on its way. The calling campaign is truly a campuswide effort and the participation of students, faculty, staff and alumni is essential to our success.

Follow this link to register for the calling campaign:
href="http://admissions.ucsd.edu/earlycalling.html. An email with login instructions will be sent to you prior to the campaign launch. The online tool will assist you with placing and logging calls to the admitted students within your academic area or college. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact Amanda Kalal (x60269, amkalal@ucsd.edu) or AVC Mae Brown's assistant (x43156).

Thank you in advance; we are looking forward to another rewarding and productive yield campaign.
