SUBJECT:    Call for Nominations for Chancellor’s Medal and Revelle Medal

As part of UC San Diego’s annual recognition of our founding, we will award the Chancellor’s Medal and the Revelle Medal in conjunction with our November 13 – 15, 2014 celebration of Founders’ Day. I encourage your nomination of visionary leaders whose impact on UC San Diego has resulted in the institution’s rise to international prominence.

The Chancellor’s Medal is one of the highest honors given by UC San Diego for exceptional service in support of the university’s mission. Nominees must have a connection with the University; however, current employees are not eligible for the medal. Please visit the Chancellor’s Medal website at http://chancellor.ucsd.edu/about-the-office/the-chancellors-medal to see previous recipients and information about their contributions to UC San Diego’s excellence.

The Revelle Medal recognizes a visionary faculty leader for sustained and distinguished service to the campus. The medal honors a record of accomplishment that advances UC San Diego. The Revelle Medal website at http://chancellor.ucsd.edu/about-the-office/the-revelle-medal provides additional information about the medal.

Nominators for the Chancellor’s Medal and Revelle Medal must have an association with UC San Diego. Further guidelines and the nomination forms are found on the medal websites. The deadline for nominations is May 15, 2014. Nominations received after May 15 will be considered the following year.
