ALL UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS AT UC SAN DIEGO

SUBJECT:    Sun God Festival 2014: Important Registration Information

Dear Fellow Tritons,

As the 32nd annual Sun God Festival approaches, the festival planning team would like to share important information about the festival. You probably heard about the incidents occurring the day of previous festivals. In 2013, 48 attendees were hospitalized - all due to heavy alcohol consumption. These numbers threaten the future of the festival. Your choices will determine what that future looks like. Please keep the festival going by being safe and taking care of each other!

The festival planning team has worked closely with the Sun God Festival Health & Safety Task Force to make changes to the event to provide a safer experience:

Wristband Registration
To attend the 2014 Sun God Festival, eligible UC San Diego undergraduates MUST register in advance to RESERVE a wristband. The number of wristbands is limited by the venue capacity and undergraduates are not guaranteed a wristband. To register for a wristband please visit http://sgfregister.ucsd.edu starting at 5:00 AM on May 8, 2014.

Wristbands can be picked up on Thursday, May 15, 2014 ONLY at the Marshall Field Box Office, 10:00 AM-9:00 PM. For registration and pickup, you MUST have your UCSD ID card. For more wristband information including terms, restrictions, and eligibility, please visit http://sungodfestival.ucsd.edu/wristbands

Campus Residential Area Policies
From Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 8:00 PM through Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 8:00 AM all residential areas will enforce a campuswide no-host policy, with access available to UCSD students only. Additionally, the Village and I-House will be subject to a resident-only policy and access will be limited to residents of those communities only. Please contact your housing community's Residential Life office for more information.

. Have a game plan for how to get to and from campus safely and for where to meet your friends if you get separated.
. Participate in "Floatie" bystander invention training before the festival and help keep your friends afloat.
. Learn about the Responsible Action Protocol (RAP) and call 858.534.HELP (858.534.4357) immediately in case of an emergency.
