ALL ACADEMICS, STAFF AND STUDENTS AT UC SAN DIEGO

SUBJECT:    Save the Dates – Triton Day and Transfer Triton Day 2015

Triton Day will be held on Saturday, April 4 and Transfer Triton Day will take place on Saturday, May 9, 2015.

Triton Days bring together the campus community to showcase UC San Diego to newly admitted students and their families as a student-centered, research-focused, service-oriented public university. The day-long events will allow admitted students to explore the full range of opportunities available at UC San Diego. Representatives from the undergraduate colleges, academic departments and programs, student services, student organizations and extracurricular/enrichment programs will offer prospective students a glimpse into their future as members of the Triton family. Between the two days, an estimated 25,000 people will visit the campus.

The goal of this important endeavor is to come together to support our admissions efforts by encouraging our newly admitted students – some of the best and brightest students in the world – to choose UC San Diego. The experience we create for them on both Triton Days will greatly impact that choice. Broad campus participation from all academic areas, student support services, student organizations, and administrative support units will be essential to achieving our goal and providing our guests with a true Triton experience in the form of sessions, information fairs, open houses, lab tours and more. To demonstrate UC San Diego as a living laboratory for learning, research and development we would again this year like to highlight more research and educational opportunities, organizations and clubs, and offer additional tours of labs and research facilities.

New this year, planning and registration for both Triton Day and Transfer Triton Day will be consolidated. If your academic department, student organization, administrative or academic support area will be participating please go to http://goo.gl/aEbuaG and complete the Interest Sign Up. In late February, the full online registration site will be active and those that pre-register will be notified via email to complete their registration. If you have any questions about participating in either event please contact Amanda Kalal at amkalal@ucsd.edu.

Many volunteers will be needed to make both days a great success. Look for future notices about Triton Day volunteer opportunities on the Volunteer 50 website (http://volunteer50.ucsd.edu/) to learn more about how you can participate.

We look forward to the participation of the entire campus community in Triton Day and Transfer Triton Day 2015!
