ALL ACADEMICS, STAFF, AND STUDENTS AT UC SAN DIEGO
The UC San Diego Police Department and other local law enforcement agencies will participate in a traffic enforcement detail on and around the UC San Diego campus this Wednesday, November 18. The UC San Diego detail is one in a series of traffic enforcement details that occur throughout San Diego County in areas that experience recurring issues such as traffic or pedestrian violations. Traffic enforcement details are a way to enhance the safety and security of an area by raising awareness of these violations and educating the public. During the detail, officers from various agencies will be spread throughout campus and surrounding areas, issuing warnings or citations for violations that may include, but are not limited to: · Jaywalking · Not walking with the pedestrian signal lights · Failure to make a complete stop at a stop sign · Red light violations · Using a cell phone while driving · Riding bicycles or skateboards where prohibited All members of the campus community are encouraged to use the traffic enforcement detail as an opportunity to review traffic safety laws as well as bicycle and skateboard guidelines.
