ALL ACADEMICS, STAFF AND STUDENTS AT UC SAN DIEGO

SUBJECT:    Triton 5K and Festival – Date Change

I am excited to announce that this year’s 20th annual Triton 5K and Festival will be held on Sunday, April 10, at 9 a.m., following Saturday’s Triton Day activities for admitted students and their families. Registration will open in early January.

The Triton 5K is a long-standing campus tradition that brings together all members of the UC San Diego community, including alumni, faculty, students, staff, donors and more, to raise awareness and much needed support for student scholarships.

Established in 1996 as the Chancellor’s Challenge 5K Run/Walk for Scholars, this long-standing campus tradition has raised more than $3.4 million, benefiting more than 1,000 ambitious students with scholarship support. Today, the Triton 5K is a USA Track and Field sanctioned 3.1-mile course, weaving through the heart of the UC San Diego campus. The day will feature entertainment, special discounts for active military and veterans, a Junior Triton Run and the festival will host a play zone and interactive booths. I hope you will join me, the campus community, and 4,000 anticipated participants at the annual Triton 5K. For more information, please email triton5k@ucsd.edu.
