The 33rd annual Sun God Festival is from 2 PM to 8 PM on Sunday, May 3. Due to the construction of event infrastructure, Hopkins Drive will be closed from 6:00 PM on Saturday, May 2 through 6:00 AM on Monday, May 4. During that time, Hopkins Drive will be closed to all traffic between Scholars Drive North and Voigt Drive.
Additionally, as part of increased health and safety initiatives related to the Festival, Scholars Drive North will be closed to all traffic between Pangaea Drive and North Point Drive from 6:00 AM on Sunday, May 3 through 6:00 AM on Monday, May 4.
Please note, these are the additional impacts to parking and transportation on campus during the weekend of the Sun God Festival:
-Voigt Drive will be closed to west-bound traffic between Engineers Lane and Hopkins Drive from 12:00 PM on Sunday, May 3 to 12:00 AM on Monday, May 4.
-Access to Hopkins Parking Structure, Marshall Lower Apartments Lot (P308) and Library Loop on Hopkins Drive (P309) will be available from Voigt Drive only until 10:00 AM on Sunday, May 3. After 10:00 AM inbound traffic will be limited to event-related vehicles. Please note that outbound traffic from Hopkins Parking Structure is subject to delays.
-Spanos Loop on Northpoint Lane (P359) and the Rady Parking Lot (P357) will be closed from 8:00 PM on Friday, May 1 through 6:00 AM on Monday, May 4.
-Campus shuttle service will be added on May 3 to accommodate traffic to and from the event. The Cityshuttle (Arriba/Nobel) and Regents Parking Shuttle routes will run from 12:00 PM on Sunday, May 3 to 12:00 AM on Monday, May 4. The shuttle loop at the Price Center will serve as the drop-off and pick-up location for festival attendees riding both the Cityshuttle and Regents Parking shuttle routes. Regular shuttle service will resume at 6 AM on Monday, May 4. More information about alternative transportation options for the festival can be found here: http://sgf.ucsd.edu/transportation.
We urge all festival attendees to use an alternative transportation option to get to and from the event on Sunday, May 3. UC San Diego community members not attending the event are encouraged to find alternate parking locations to help ease congestion, reduce your delays and facilitate pedestrian traffic to and from the festival on Hopkins Drive.
