SUBJECT:    UC San Diego Student Conduct Code Revisions

During Spring Quarter 2015, the Office of Student Conduct proposed a set of revisions to the UC San Diego Student Conduct Code. The proposed changes were initially reviewed by the Student Conduct Standards Group. Feedback was received from the greater campus community in an open campus comment period. These changes were approved by Chancellor Khosla, fully reviewed by Campus Counsel, and officially implemented on September 15th, 2015.

Some of the key changes include:

. Revising and realigning the student conduct process for student organizations.
. Including an electronic copy of the applicable incident report(s) with Administrative Resolution meeting letters and Student Conduct Review letters.
. Adding two new sub-sections to the Conduct in Violation of Community Standards: a) instituting complaints in bad faith and/or attempting to discourage an individual's proper participation in the student conduct process and b) misuse of prescribed medication, over the counter drugs, and/or other controlled substances.
. Eliminating non-binding, advisory sanction recommendations by Conduct Boards and Review Officers.

You can find additional information on the non-academic student conduct process and additional student-related policies at http://studentconduct.ucsd.edu. If you have further questions, please contact Ben White, Director of Student Conduct, at studentconduct@ucsd.edu.
