November 29, 2016 Representative Assembly Meeting

Dear Colleagues:

The November 2016 meeting of the 2016-17 academic year is scheduled for Tuesday, November 29th at 3:30 p.m., in the Garren Auditorium of the Biomedical Sciences Building (first floor). The Notice of Meeting (agenda) and all pertinent documents may be found at the following two locations:

Peter Cowhey, Interim Executive Vice Chancellor-Academic Affairs, will address the Assembly at this meeting. Other speakers include Joel King, AVC Design and Construction & Campus Architect, who will brief the Assembly on the North Torrey Pines Living and Learning Neighborhood Project; and Mark Appelbaum, Professor Emeritus, UCSD Emeriti Association President, and Harry Powell, Professor Emeritus, UCSD Emeriti Association Past President, who will discuss the Emeriti Association. In addition, proposals to create a new MS in Geotechnical Engineering and a Master of Public Health will be presented, and Divisional Senate Vice Chair Farrell Ackerman will report on the review of the proposed NCAA reclassification by Senate standing committees and discuss next steps.
