ALL ACADEMICS AT UC SAN DIEGO

SUBJECT:    Faculty Participation in the Early Calling Campaign – March 1 – 6, 2016

In March, the Office of Admissions will host a series of critical phone calling campaigns to increase the yield of admitted students from targeted populations, including Regents Scholars, Chancellor’s Associate Scholars, historically underrepresented students and top admits based on their academic profile.

The Early Calling Campaign is the first of the series and will take place March 1-6, 2016. Faculty and staff are asked to call Regents Scholars and historically underrepresented students who have been admitted to your department, program or college. By participating in this important yield event, you will be the first person to share with these students the exciting news of their admission to UC San Diego! Following the Early Calling Campaign, current UC San Diego students will call admitted students to invite them to Triton Day and campus overnight programs; the following week UC San Diego alumni will share their Triton experiences with admitted students who are not contacted in the first two campaigns.

To participate in the Early Calling Campaign, follow this link to register as a caller: http://admissions.ucsd.edu/earlycalling.html. A link to the active calling campaign site will be sent via email the day the campaign launches. The online tool will assist you with placing and tracking calls to the admitted students.

Admissions decisions will be released mid-March, and once again the fall 2016 admits are among the best and brightest with admissions offers from top institutions across the country. Faculty interaction is a key factor in a student’s college decision-making process. Therefore, faculty participation is essential to our success. In an effort to increase participation, please forward this invitation to your staff and colleagues.

If you have any questions, please contact Catherine Polletta (x60269, cpolletta@ucsd.edu).

The calling campaign is truly a campus wide effort and the participation of students, faculty, staff and alumni is essential to our success. Thank you in advance; we are looking forward to another rewarding and productive yield campaign.
