SUBJECT:    CONSTRUCTION ALERT – Osler Lane Surface Parking Lot

Project Description/Locations:

The project site for the Osler Lane Surface Parking Lot is currently an open turf area with the exception of a temporary construction laydown area and is located west of Gilman Drive and north of Osler Lane. The existing turf will be removed and replaced with an asphalt parking lot and will include a new driveway entrance, parking lot lighting, and landscaping adjacent to existing walkways. The project will begin April 18, 2016 and should be completed by July 10, 2016. The project includes a short term closure of a portion of sidewalk along Osler Lane and Library Walk. The primary hours of work are from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Some earlier start times or later ending times may occur with the possibility of some weekend work.

Traffic, Bike Lane and Pedestrian Impacts:

There will be at least one lane open to traffic in all directions at all times. Traffic control measures, including flaggers, will be in place for locations where the work will occur in the street, but no total closure of any street will occur. Bike lanes could be temporarily impacted by traffic control for the work within a street. The duration for such an impact will be brief, typically one to two days. Pedestrians may be directed to adjacent walkways if work requires such a routing change. Areas impacted by the work will not be simultaneous and each location will be interrupted for a short duration of one to two days.
