UC San Diego Chancellor's Advisory Committee on Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation Issues, http://gisoi.ucsd.edu/ is actively seeking new faculty and staff members. The CAC GISOI was formed in 1994 and comprises representatives from faculty, staff, and students at UC San Diego.
The Committee's charge is to identify and analyze issues relating to the lesbian gay bisexual transgender and intersex (LGBTI) community at UC San Diego, including faculty, staff, and students; to inform and educate the UC San Diego community about conditions affecting the LGBTI community in their areas, and to advise and make recommendations to the Chancellor through the Vice Chancellor for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion regarding policies and procedures that will enhance the equality of the LGBTI community at UC San Diego. The Committee Chair or representative also holds a voting seat on the UC San Diego Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Council.
Selection criteria for candidates include: demonstrated support of the UC San Diego Principles of Community; willingness to serve on the Committee on the Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation Issues for a two-year term; the ability to serve at least 5 hours per quarter to attend full committee and subcommittee meetings; and sensitivity to issues of gender and diversity. The CAC GISOI will meet three times in 2016-2017:
Wednesday, October 26, at 2-4 p.m.
Wednesday, February 8, at 2-4 p.m.
Wednesday, May 3, at 2-4 p.m.
and as needed in sub committees. Locations TBD.
