ALL ACADEMICS, STAFF, AND STUDENTS AT UC SAN DIEGO

SUBJECT:    iCommute Rideshare Challenge October 1-31

Make your commute count and join the iCommute Rideshare 2016 Corporate Challenge this October! To encourage and promote more sustainable commuting options, UC San Diego will engage in this friendly competition against other local organizations in similar size categories.

You can help the campus earn points. Here’s how:

· From October 1-31, drivers of single-occupant vehicles can earn Challenge points by trying a carpool (including uberPOOL and Lyft Line), vanpool, taking public transit, walking or biking to work. Telecommuting or compressed work week days earn points, too. Try any of these options every day or even just a couple of days a week.

· All you have to do is sign up for an iCommute account and log your trips throughout the month. Be sure to log your trips daily or at least weekly.

· Commute Solutions program members who already use alternative transportation can also participate. Just sign up for an iCommute account, or use your existing account, and track your trips during October.

To get started, visit
http://transportation.ucsd.edu/alternatives/challenge.html and register for an account. Then, start tracking your trips once the Challenge kicks off October 1.

Join the 57 percent of UC San Diego commuters who don’t drive alone and experience the many benefits of alternative transportation for yourself. Save money, go green and help UC San Diego win the iCommute Rideshare Challenge!
