CONSTRUCTION ALERT – Gilman Drive and Villa La Jolla Drive Turn Lane Closure

Project Description/Locations:

Revelle Switch Station upgrades currently under construction in Revelle College provide critical electrical infrastructure to reliably service the existing and proposed connected electrical loads for the campus. Installation of underground electrical conduits for the Revelle Switch Station in Gilman Drive will begin on the evening of September 12, 2016 and be completed by the morning of September 17, 2016. The construction will take place overnight and the hours of work will be from 8:00 PM to 4:30 AM. The work will entail the closing of the right turn lane heading east on Gilman Drive to La Jolla Village Drive.

Immediate Street Traffic, Bike Lane, and Pedestrian Impacts:

· Intermittent traffic delays heading east on Gilman Drive. · Closure of the right turn lane from Gilman Drive to Villa La Jolla Drive.

· Traffic to be controlled by flag persons when the lane is closed.

· Bike lane will be impacted by this closure.

· Pedestrian traffic will be impacted by the closing of the sidewalk.

During construction, motorists are urged to slow down and all travelers are encouraged to give themselves more time and anticipate possible traffic delays.
