SUBJECT:    January 31, 2017 Representative Assembly Meeting

Dear Colleagues:

The January 2017 meeting of the 2016-17 academic year is scheduled for Tuesday, January 31st at 3:30 p.m., in the Garren Auditorium of the Biomedical Sciences Building (first floor). The Notice of Meeting (agenda) and all pertinent documents may be found at the following two locations:

The Chancellor will address the Assembly at this meeting. Monique Crandal, Director of Student Affairs Case Management Services - Counseling & Psychological Services, Garry Mac Pherson, Associate Vice Chancellor - Environmental Health & Safety, and Melissa Luth, Police Sergeant - Campus Police, will discuss students in distress. Former Divisional Senate Chair Robert Continetti will provide an overview of the Senate, and Committee on Committees Chair Kimberly Prather will discuss Senate service. In addition, proposals will be presented for (1) a program of study leading to a Master of Professional Accountancy in the Rady School of Management, (2) an amendment to San Diego Senate Regulation 703, Master of Finance in the Rady School of Management, (3) PhD degrees in NanoEngineering and Chemical Engineering with a Specialization in Multi-Scale Biology, and (4) a name change of the MS in Structural Engineering with Specialization in Health Monitoring, Prognosis, and Validated Simulations to MS in Structural Engineering with Specialization in Structural Health Monitoring and Non-Destructive Evaluation, Department of Structural Engineering.
