SUBJECT:    New Payment Option Available Students Beginning Winter Quarter 2018

The University of California San Diego is pleased to announce an expanded payment option for students to pay their tuition and fees. Beginning Winter Quarter of 2018, credit cards will become a new online payment method, in addition to the current eCheck system. This new payment method was developed to meet the demand of many students who requested to have a credit card option. Implementing this new payment method would not have been possible without the support and partnership from Student Business Services, Cashiers, ITS, and General Accounting.

All credit card transactions will carry a 2.75% convenience fee that is paid to our third-party vendor, with whom we have arranged to process the credit card transactions. We will continue to recommend the following payment options which do not incur a convenience fee:

* eCheck - our preferred online payment method through TritonLink

* Cash, Check, or Money Order available by US mail or direct payment through the Central Cashiers Office

International students will continue to have the Western Union option available for international wire transfers.
