SUBJECT:    Excellence in Postdoctoral Scholar Mentoring and Postdoctoral Scholar Awards

We are pleased to announce the recipients of the 2017-18 Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Postdoctoral Scholar Mentoring and Outstanding Postdoctoral Scholar. These recipients were chosen from an excellent cohort of nominations.

The Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Postdoctoral Scholar Mentoring recognizes faculty mentors who serve as effective advisors, advocates, role models and colleagues to their postdoctoral trainees, and who consistently promote and actively engage in the many forms of mentorship. This year’s recipients are:

Professor David Barner, Ph.D. – Psychology
Professor Christina D. Chambers, Ph.D., M.P.H. – Pediatrics

The Chancellor’s Award for Outstanding Postdoctoral Scholar recognizes well-rounded postdoctoral scholars who excel in research and advance the frontiers of science, and also provide leadership, mentorship and service. This year’s recipients are:

Brian León, Ph.D. – Chemistry and Biochemistry
Emily L. Petty, Ph.D. – Biological Sciences, Section of Molecular Biology

The Postdoc Appreciation Luncheon and Award Ceremony will take place from noon to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 29, 2017, in the Price Center Ballroom.
