ALL ACADEMICS, STAFF AND STUDENTS AT UC SAN DIEGO

SUBJECT:   Community Alert: Off-Campus Shooting

On April 30, 2017, just after 6:00pm, in the 9000 block of Judicial Drive at the La Jolla Crossroads apartment complex, near the UTC Mall, there was a mass shooting. According to San Diego Police Chief Shelly Zimmerman, there were eight victims shot and the shooter is deceased. There is no reason to believe that there are any outstanding suspects or any ongoing threat to the community. We don't know if any of the victims are UC San Diego affiliates, but we know many students live in the area. San Diego Police ask that anyone with additional information on the shooting contact them immediately at 619-531-2000.
